Equipment

  • Smoker
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Grilling tools

Ingredients
  

  • 800 g ground chuck 80/20
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 4 burger buns (brioche or potato buns)
  • 30 g Big Dog Spices Loaded Burger seasoning
  • 1-2 wood chunks (oak or hickory)
  • assorted burger toppings such as bacon, tomato, lettuce and your favourite condiments

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your smoker to 135 °C.
  • Combine ground beef with a generous handful of Big Dog Spices Loaded Burger flavour seasoning in a large mixing bowl. Form 4 equal-sized burger patties.
  • Place your burgers on the grill and smoke for 45-60 mins, or until the internal temperature reaches 55 °C.
  • Increase the grill temperature to 200 °C and sear both sides of the patties (add the cheese after the first flip) for three minutes, or until the burgers reach an internal temperature of 75 °C.
  • Remove burger patties and allow them to rest while you toast the buns.
  • Assemble burgers and enjoy.
